Category: Welcome
an important message from Tea Party Patriots about "Tea Party" 3rd party
by TMedlin January 6th, 2010Dear Fellow Tea Party Patriots,
There is much talk of the formation of a third political party based on the tea party movement. In Florida, a Democratic operative with absolutely no connection to the tea party movement has filed papers to form a third party called the Florida Tea Party. He has issued legal threats against local tea parties demanding that they cease using the name "Florida Tea Party."
Tea Party Patriots is issuing this statement in order to make it clear that we are not associated with this, or any attempts to form a third party. Additionally, we believe that such efforts are unproductive and unwise at this time. The history of third party movements in this country is one of division and defeat. We believe that it is instead time for all Americans to rise up and demand appropriate reform within their own parties. The mechanisms exist for citizens to participate in their parties, and to drive their parties in the right direction.
The Tea Party Patriots encourage all citizens to get involved in the party process, and to reshape their parties into something in which they may once again believe. This country does not belong to any one party, nor does it belong to the career politicians. This country belongs to the citizens. As Benjamin Franklin once said, "We have given you a republic madam, if you can keep it." The founders knew that it would be our sacred obligation as citizens to get involved, and to work hard to hold on to this great nation. We have much work to do, and future generations will look back in judgment. We hope you will join us in preserving the republic.
You are the heart and soul of the Tea Party Movement. Thank you for promoting the causes of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets with us!

Obama exempted Interpol from Constitutional Constraints

Did Obama exempt Interpol from same legal constraints as American law-enforcement?
posted at 2:55 pm on December 23, 2009 by Ed Morrissey
During his presidency, Ronald Reagan granted the global police agency Interpol the status of diplomatic personnel in order to engage more constructively on international law enforcement. In Executive Order 12425, Reagan made two exceptions to that status. The first had to do with taxation, but the second was to make sure that Interpol had the same accountability for its actions as American law enforcement — namely, they had to produce records when demanded by courts and could not have immunity for their actions.
Barack Obama unexpectedly revoked those exceptions in a change to EO 12425 last month, as Threats Watch reports:
Last Thursday, December 17, 2009, The White House released an Executive Order “Amending Executive Order 12425.” It grants INTERPOL (International Criminal Police Organization) a new level of full diplomatic immunity afforded to foreign embassies and select other “International Organizations” as set forth in the United States International Organizations Immunities Act of 1945.
By removing language from President Reagan’s 1983 Executive Order 12425, this international law enforcement body now operates – now operates – on American soil beyond the reach of our own top law enforcement arm, the FBI, and is immune from Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests. …
After initial review and discussions between the writers of this analysis, the context was spelled out plainly.
Through EO 12425, President Reagan extended to INTERPOL recognition as an “International Organization.” In short, the privileges and immunities afforded foreign diplomats was extended to INTERPOL. Two sets of important privileges and immunities were withheld: Section 2© and the remaining sections cited (all of which deal with differing taxes).
And then comes December 17, 2009, and President Obama. The exemptions in EO 12425 were removed.
Section 2c of the United States International Organizations Immunities Act is the crucial piece.
Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable. (Emphasis added.)
Inviolable archives means INTERPOL records are beyond US citizens’ Freedom of Information Act requests and from American legal or investigative discovery (“unless such immunity be expressly waived.”)
Property and assets being immune from search and confiscation means precisely that. Wherever they may be in the United States. This could conceivably include human assets – Americans arrested on our soil by INTERPOL officers.
Actually, that last argument overreaches. American law does not consider people as “assets.” It does mean, though, that Interpol officers would have diplomatic immunity for any lawbreaking conducted in the US at a time when Interpol nations (like Italy) have attempted to try American intelligence agents for their work in the war on terror, a rather interesting double standard.
It also appears to mean that Americans who get arrested on the basis of Interpol work cannot get the type of documentation one normally would get in the discovery process, which is a remarkable reversal from Obama’s declared efforts to gain “due process” for terrorists detained at Gitmo. Does the White House intend to treat Americans worse than the terrorists we’ve captured during wartime?
Andy McCarthy wonders the same thing:
Interpol’s property and assets are no longer subject to search and confiscation, and its archives are now considered inviolable. This international police force (whose U.S. headquarters is in the Justice Department in Washington) will be unrestrained by the U.S. Constitution and American law while it operates in the United States and affects both Americans and American interests outside the United States.
Interpol works closely with international tribunals (such as the International Criminal Court — which the United States has refused to join because of its sovereignty surrendering provisions, though top Obama officials want us in it). It also works closely with foreign courts and law-enforcement authorities (such as those in Europe that are investigating former Bush administration officials for purported war crimes — i.e., for actions taken in America’s defense).
Why would we elevate an international police force above American law? Why would we immunize an international police force from the limitations that constrain the FBI and other American law-enforcement agencies? Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize?
I seem to recall the Left getting hysterical over the Patriot Act extensions that Obama finally backed. This gives Interpol a much wider operational latitude than anything contemplated in the Patriot Act, and with no accountability at all.
Join us on Thurs, Nov 5th in DC for the Healthcare Housecall - we're gonna "convoy"
by TMedlin October 31st, 2009Michele Bachmann has challenged patriotic Americans to join her on the steps of the Capital in Washington, DC this Thursday at noon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M8_XcSHHxDk
In this video, she explains that the government now controls 30% of the private wealth of the country. With the passage of health care, this rises to 48%. The dollar has lost 16% of its value since the Obama administration took office. Have you had enough yet? Join us Thursday for what may become the last defining challenge to literally save our freedom.
We have people all over the state that are beginning to make their plans to be there...a day trip....to DC. I'm in the Raleigh area and we have room for quite a few - may even be able to get a bus...will know on Monday. Please let me know as soon as possible, if you are interested. I am working with Tea Party and 9-12 groups across the state to see if we can get a good crowd there. This may be our last stand!
Take a sick day to fight against Obamacare!
Here are some items of interest for this new legislation:
H.R. 3962, the "Affordable Health Care for America Act" has been introduced--all 1990 pages of it.
Employer Mandate Excise Tax (Page 275): If an employer does not pay 72.5 percent of a single employee's health premium (65 percent of a family employee), the employer must pay an excise tax equal to 8 percent of average wages.
Individual Mandate Surtax (Page 296): If an individual fails to obtain qualifying coverage, he must pay an income surtax equal to the lesser of 2.5 percent of modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or the average premium. MAGI adds back in the foreign earned income exclusion and municipal bond interest.
Medicine Cabinet Tax (Page 324): Non-prescription medications would no longer be able to be purchased from health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs), or health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs). Insulin excepted.
Cap on FSAs (Page 325): FSAs would face an annual cap of $2500 (currently uncapped).
Increased Additional Tax on Non-Qualified HSA Distributions (Page 326): Non-qualified distributions from HSAs would face an additional tax of 20 percent (current law is 10 percent). This disadvantages HSAs relative to other tax-free accounts (e.g. IRAs, 401(k)s, 529 plans, etc.)
Denial of Tax Deduction for Employer Health Plans Coordinating with Medicare Part D (Page 327): This would further erode private sector participation in delivery of Medicare services.
Surtax on Individuals and Small Businesses (Page 336): Imposes an income surtax of 5.4 percent on MAGI over $500,000 ($1 million married filing jointly). MAGI adds back in the itemized deduction for margin loan interest. This would raise the top marginal tax rate in 2011 from 39.6 percent under current law to 45 percent-a new effective top rate.
Excise Tax on Medical Devices (Page 339): Imposes a new excise tax on medical device manufacturers equal to 2.5 percent of the wholesale price. It excludes retail sales and unspecified medical devices sold to the general public.
Corporate 1099-MISC Information Reporting (Page 344): Requires that 1099-MISC forms be issued to corporations as well as persons for trade or business payments. Current law limits to just persons for small business compliance complexity reasons. Also expands reporting to exchanges of property.
Delay in Worldwide Allocation of Interest (Page 345): Delays for nine years the worldwide allocation of interest, a corporate tax relief provision from the American Jobs Creation Act
Limitation on Tax Treaty Benefits for Certain Payments (Page 346): Increases taxes on U.S. employers with overseas operations looking to avoid double taxation of earnings.
Codification of the "Economic Substance Doctrine" (Page 349): Empowers the IRS to disallow a perfectly legal tax deduction or other tax relief merely because the IRS deems that the motive of the taxpayer was not primarily business-related.
Application of "More Likely Than Not" Rule (Page 357): Publicly-traded partnerships and corporations with annual gross receipts in excess of $100 million have raised standards on penalties. If there is a tax underpayment by these taxpayers, they must be able to prove that the estimated tax paid would have more likely than not been sufficient to cover final tax liability.

by Bubba September 29th, 2009How do you explain to your child that there really are monsters?
Monsters that prey on their innocence, their bodies and their blood?
The real monsters don't live under their bed or in the closet.
In the news today is the story of Roman Polanski's arrest for his 1978 conviction of rape. He raped a thirteen year old girl. He drugged her, and raped her in many different ways.
Polanski is a monster but he's not the only monster in this story. There are more - and they all have something in common.
It seems that the entire liberal celebrity culture in America is marching to the defense of Roman the child predator:
The View's Whoopi Goldberg on Polanski: 'It Wasn't Rape-Rape'. Click that and read the whole thing and be amazed, no - be sick to your stomach - at the rationalizations of another monster. The liberal monster.
Goldberg is a liberal monster.
Liberal monsters, in a variety of forms including celebrities, politicians, journalists and activists, look out for each other. While they don't all prey on our children, they defend and assist the ones that do.
The corrupt organization ACORN has been involved in a range of illegal activities for decades, but their corruption didn't gain national attention until they got caught red-handed in the act of aiding, abetting, facilitating child prostitution.
After ACORN offices in multiple cities were caught, liberal monsters across the country cried foul, condemning the mean ole right-wingers on witch hunts.
Congress was forced to vote to defund ACORN of billions of dollars of federal (our) money - except for 75 Democrats.
75 Democrats voted against defunding - they voted to allow ACORN monsters to continue using our money to facilitate the prostitution of minors.
One of those Democrats is running for re-election in 2010.
His name is

North Carolinians to DC for 912 TaxPayer March on Washington
by TMedlin July 11th, 2009Calling all North Carolina Patriots!
Our next BIG event will be to head to Washington DC to participate in the 9-11 Memorial, the March and Rally on 9-12, and the demonstration at Walter Reed in conjunction with Free Republic.
Websites with the information include
www.912dc.org,
www.resistnet.com,
www.teapartypatriots.com,
www.freedomworks.com and several others.
Since we are so close, there is no reason we shouldn't be able to put 10,000 North Carolinians in DC for that event.
There are a multitude of ways to get there - planes, charter buses, Amtrak, caravans... and there are numerous hotel packages available. Several of us have made our reservations at the Capital Hilton, right in the middle of everything; just blocks from the White House, the National Mall, Washington Monument, etc. There's a limited number of rooms left, so go ahead and make those reservations now.
If the Hilton books up, the Westin is close by and we have good rates, there, too.
You need to make your reservations via the 912dc.org website to be sure to get the discount.
We're trying to get a discount for those people wanting to arrive on Wed evening...we will know more about that on Monday.
In the meantime, several of us are going to caravan...if you want to join us, drop us a line. Carpooling is advisable, because parking is limited and expensive.

It Didnt Happen Suddenly
by Bubba June 29th, 2009... but it did happen.
When did the lowbrows take over the culture?
No sane and sensible taxpayer could possibly believe that spending trillions and trillions of dollars on blue-sky fantasies makes any sense at all; the only reason Americans aren't in open rebellion yet is that half of them can't believe it's happening, and the other half are idiots.
...look at the global warming farce, still hotly pursued by the political classes in Europe and this country, although the Australians seem to be coming to their senses. China now has more millionaires than the UK, because they use all their resources, like coal, to fire their industrial plants. They will never sacrifice a single luxury car to the cap and trade fraud. Neither will India. China and India have been under the thumb of egomaniacal socialists (in the case of India) and communists (in the case of China). They've been there, done that, seen the suffering.
Obama himself is smart enough; even smart enough to say a few years ago that he didn't feel ready for the presidency. Well, now we can see why he said that.
That should be enough excerpts for you to realize you really need to go read the whole thing.

Unintended Consquences of Not Thinking Things Through
by Mel Aben May 11th, 2009Ever wonder to yourself "What was this or that person thinking?"? I know I have and the truth is we can never know what someone is thinking or crawl inside of their heads. Besides the thought of someone rummaging through my brain creeps me out. However, it seems our government or at least persons within our government want to do just that. I have written a few times about the Hate Crimes Bill, HR 1913 and SB 909 (the Senate version). This would not only give an exclusive few special protections under the law, it would also enable folks to be prosecuted for speaking their minds because the government believes it can decide if speaking out against pedophilia and homosexuality are being hatefully, instead of a heartfelt belief. But let me add a couple of twists to this type of legislation.
The Cybersecurity Act of 2009 will allow the President to appoint a Cyber czar (what is it with all the czars suddenly?) who will then have the power to shut down the Internet during anything they deem a national security risk. I have also written about that one. But here is the twist that at least in mind makes the passage of the two above pieces of legislation much more diabolical either that or I am living in the land of paranoia (not comments on this one please
).
I found out over the weekend about a new piece of legislation, HR 1966, now this piece of legislation came about because of a tragedy. A young girl killed herself, Megan Meier due to being tormented online. Let me just say that should never, ever happen and we as parents need to keep a very close eye on what our children are doing on line, who they are talking too, what they are reading, what social networking they are involved in, because our world is fallen and our kids are the favorite target of twisted individuals. So maybe after reading my last statement you would wonder why I object to HR 1966, because here is what it says:
1‘(a) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both
‘(b) As used in this section--‘(1) the term ‘communication’ means the electronic transmission, between or among points specified by the user, of information of the user’s choosing, without change in the form or content of the information as sent and received; and
‘(2) the term ‘electronic means’ means any equipment dependent on electrical power to access an information service, including email, instant messaging, blogs, websites, telephones, and text messages.’
So what that means at least in my mind combined with the Cybersecurity Act and the Hate Crimes legislation is that anyone who says, writes, blogs, texts, IM's, etc... that anyone anywhere finds objectionable or offensive can and will be prosecuted. It won't matter what context something was meant in, because it will be the idea that someone finds it upsetting and wants you to pay a price.
Now please understand that I find many things objectionable, however I am also quite aware that the 1st Amendment protection applies (see Wanda Sykes performance over the weekend). Additionally, I do not want to be subjected to the thought police, I want to be able to speak my heart without the fear that someone who hears or reads what I write who does not like it can have me arrested for a hate crime or some cyber czar can find my blog to be a national security risk and shut it down. What happens to the teacher who upsets his or her student or that student's parents? What happens to the neighbor who upsets the guy next door? What happens to the spouse who irritates her husband/his wife? What happens to the pastor who speaks against sin? What happens to the radio or tv talkshow host who offends someone in the audience? What happens to the blogger or newspaper journalist that offends their audience? The list is endless and the slope slippery and steep.
There are many pieces of legislation that start with a good intentions, I know that SB 909 was named for Matthew Shepard who died a horrible and tragic death, and that HR 1966 is named for Megan Meier who also died needlessly because of tormenting. However, if our legislatures no matter what their intentions are do not think through the consequences of bills then We the People will suffer the consequences. Again these 3 pieces of legislation when combined can be used and based on what we are seeing will be used to silence any and all dissent that is not politically correct.
Common Sense vs. Political Expedience
by Mel Aben May 6th, 2009There seems to be a serious lack of common sense inside the beltway. While I know for many of us this is not a huge shock it does lead into my thoughts for today. Shortly after being inaugurated and right before taking off on the world apology tour, Obama announced that within one year he would close Gitmo and all the terrorist would be tried in civilian court. Despite telling those who are knowledgeable about such things that he would wait to make a decision on this issue until he was up to speed and had all the facts, Obama decided to put political expedience ahead of common sense and placate his base. However, on Friday evening, when he always announces stuff he doesn't want anyone to pay attention too, he admitted that it was likely the military tribunals would resume, however there is no word on where if convicted these guys will serve their sentences. While common sense dictates that the guys at Gitmo cannot be tried in civilian courts, political expedience seemed more important for a time.
In almost the same breath however we are informed that our government is going to release 13 AL-Qaeda trained terrorist from Gitmo. They are encouraging them to settle in Northern Virginia and not only are they encouraging them to settle in Northern Virgina but We the People will be picking up the tab for their resettlement. Again political expedience is trumping common sense. On the world apology tour other countries let us know that they would not take the Gitmo detainees because they are dangerous to the populace. Yet in order to placate his base Obama is willing to endanger We the People.
Both instances illustrate that unless common sense returns to DC, We the People will pay an ever steepening price for political expedience. That is not the way this Republic was meant to work. I would like to know when We the People will take priority again.
Details, Details, Details
by Mel Aben May 4th, 2009Link: http://avoiceformoms.blogspot.com/2009/05/details-details-details-84365.html
Imagine for a moment that you were a lawmaker and were presented with a bill that if passed would be become law, and part of the text of the bill stated:
(a) Prohibited Activities- A participant in an approved national service position under this subtitle may not engage in the following activities: (1) Attempting to influence legislation. (2) Organizing or engaging in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes. (7) Engaging in religious instruction, conducting worship services, providing instruction as part of a program that includes mandatory religious instruction or worship, constructing or operating facilities devoted to religious instruction or worship, maintaining facilities primarily or inherently devoted to religious instruction or worship, or engaging in any form of religious proselytization.
Would you vote for it? Would you want to send this to the President's desk for his signature? If you were President would you sign it? Well this particular wording was in a bill, H.R. 1388 otherwise known as the G.I.V.E. Act (Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education), it was passed in the House and Senate and on April 21, 2009 the President signed this bill into law. It has me believing that many of our legislators do not read these bills. Or if they do read them do not comprehend what the wording actually means or understand the Constitution of the United States which is despite much gnashing of teeth by some the law of the land.
This law is scary because not only does it prohibit first amendment protections of the participants, it also creates a National Civilian Defense Force. Now before we go any further let me just say Congress did have the sense to strip the Mandatory provision from this bill, yes the original intent was to force all 18-25 year olds participate in this "Volunteer Brigade". But there has already been a study commissioned by Congress to look into whether MANDATORY SERVICE would be beneficial to the youth of America. Based on the make up of the House, Senate and White House I am betting it won't be long before Mandatory becomes the law of the land. There is also a provision in the Bill for Middle School and High School Students to join in.
This law will cost WE THE PEOPLE $5.7 Billion over 6 years in dollars but will cost the youth of this country much much more. This I believe is where we as parents and US Citizens need to say enough and we need to say it loudly and with conviction. The final Bill was passed in the House with a vote of 275 to 149 and in the Senate 79-19. The only saving grace for this law right now is that Congress has not funded it. I pray that remains the case.
The 2nd Allows The 1st
by Mel Aben May 3rd, 2009Link: http://avoiceformoms.blogspot.com/
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.~2nd Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~1st Amendment
Today's post will be long, however it is a subject I have not given much attention to yet and one that I believe is very important. The right of a free people to keep and bear Arms has been the backdrop for debates too numerous to count in this country. When I lived in Europe I had that same debate with folks there. The idea of We the People owning firearms seems to cause some folks heartburn. Here is the rub for those folks, it is our right to purchase and own firearms, if we are not mentally unstable or violent or a convicted felon.
I do believe in the right of a free people to keep and bear arms, I am a member of the NRA and know how to operate firearms. To be honest though the 2nd amendment has not always been at the top of my priority list, and when I was younger I often times questioned if indeed the right to bear arms was a sane amendment. But if we are lucky with age comes wisdom and in the last 15 years or so I have come to understand that gun laws do not equate low crime rates. I have also realized that throughout history in order for totalitarianism to take hold that the population must be unarmed.
What is often lost in the discussions about the right to bear arms is that gun control laws only effect law abiding citizens. It never impacts the criminals or those who would seek to harm others. Even when tragedies happen like school shootings, mass killings, etc...gun control laws do not keep those from happening. However, it is less likely to happen if the bad guys know that anyone in the populace of their target could be armed. So maybe by now you are wondering where I am headed with this topic, which I am fully aware is controversial. I wanted to let you folks know some of the behind the scenes things taking place with regards to our 2nd Amendment rights.
Here is the 2nd Amendment thoughts of our new administration (HT: Cocked and Loaded and Wayne LaPierre):
Its legislative goals included permanently reinstating the Clinton gun bans, banning sale or transfer of firearms between private citizens (at gun shows and presumably anywhere else), and requiring that handguns be “childproofed” through nonexistent technology that, even if developed, would make them prohibitively expensive and far less reliable.
And here are what key folks in the administration believe regarding our 2nd Amendment Rights:
Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel worked as President Bill Clinton’s point man on gun control. When Clinton administratively outlawed imports of many firearms and accessories, Emanuel bragged, “We’re bending the law as far as we can to ban an entirely new class of guns.” After leaving the Clinton White House, Emanuel went on to make gun bans his stock in trade as a congressman from the anti-gun mecca of Illinois. There, he co-sponsored a bill to extend and expand the Clinton gun ban and repeatedly voted to expose America’s firearms industry to bankrupting, politically motivated lawsuits.
Attorney General Eric Holder served as deputy attorney general under Clinton, where he tried to make you get a government-issued license to exercise your Second Amendment rights. He also pushed mandatory waiting periods, “one-gun-a-month” rationing of your rights, mandatory trigger-lock regimes and bans on ammunition magazines. As signer of a “friend of the court” brief defending the D.C. gun ban before the U.S. Supreme Court, Eric Holder believes that -- as his own Justice Department under Janet Reno asserted -- “the Second Amendment does not extend an individual right to keep and bear arms.”
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton advocated gun bans long before she even assumed elective office. She helped organize the 2000 “Million Mom March,” and said of the protesters, “The moms have it right: we have to license and register all handguns.” During her first run for the U.S. Senate, Clinton proposed that gun purchasers should be required to pass tests to obtain licenses; that all gun sales be recorded in a national registry; that new guns be logged in a “ballistic database”; that the Consumer Products Safety Commission regulate guns; and that gun purchasers be limited to one per month.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan was named “Man of the Year” by the Illinois gun-ban lobby last year, and upon his appointment in the White House, the Brady Campaign called him a “wonderful selection” for the job. Their praise is telling. As the superintendent of Chicago Public Schools, Duncan last year bused Chicago schoolchildren to the state capital -- at taxpayer expense -- to serve as props for lobbyists pushing gun control in the state. He urged schools to have students submit entries in the annual Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence “Essay, Poetry and Art Contest.”
Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein has a long record as a radical animal “rights” advocate. In a speech at Harvard, Sunstein said, “We ought to ban hunting, if there isn’t a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It’s time now.”Sunstein has also said that livestock and wild animals should have legal “rights” and be permitted to file lawsuit; that current uses of animals are akin to “human slavery”; and that meat eating should be eliminated.
Here are the thoughts of some of history's worst and most brutal regimes on the right of a free people to bear arms:
"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall." - Adolf Hitler
"1935 will go down in History! For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient and the world will follow our lead to the future!" - Adolf Hitler
"If the opposition (citizen) disarms, well and good. If it refuses to disarm, we shall disarm it ourselves."
- Josef Stalin
"Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."
- Mao Tse-tung
Here is the last little bit of historical facts about governments that disarm their populaces (HT:Richard Poe):
Turkey established gun control in 1911. * From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
The Soviet Union established gun control in 1929. * From 1929 to 1953, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
China established gun control in 1935. * From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Germany established gun control in 1938. * From 1939 to 1945, 13 million Jews, Catholics, Gypsies, socialists, homosexuals, trade unionists, disabled and mentally ill people, and other "mongrelized peoples," unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Cambodia established gun control in 1956. * From 1975 to 1977, 1 million "educated people," unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Guatemala established gun control in 1964. * From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
Uganda established gun control in 1970. * From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.
In closing; while I am aware that there has always been a tremendous amount of debate about the 2nd Amendment and not all of it from the far left and the far right, I am also quite aware that without the 2nd Amendment the 1st Amendment would not still be in existence, because history has brutally proven that time and time again.

The Somali Pirate Story As Told By The Seals
by Mel Aben April 28th, 2009Link: http://avoiceformoms.blogspot.com
I am reprinting this with permission from the person who wrote it. Continue to pray for our brave men and women in harms way.
All of us want to raise our glass the highest this week to the Navy
SEALs who popped those three Somali pirates. And I'm sure you want to hear the real story of what happened. Especially because there is a revoltingly opportunistic and cowardly side to it. Guess which side Zero is on?
Why, for example, did it take SEAL Team Six over 36 hours to get to the scene?
Because Zero refused to authorize the SEAL deployment for those 36
hours, during which the OSC - the on scene commander, Cmdr. Frank Castellano of the USS Bainbridge - repeatedly requested them.
Once the SEALs arrived - parachuting from a C-17 into the ocean near the ship - Zero then imposed Rules of Engagement (ROE) specifying the SEALs could not do anything unless the life of the hostage, Captain Richard Phillips, was in "imminent" danger.
Thus, when Capt. Phillips attempted to escape by jumping off the
lifeboat into the ocean, the SEAL snipers had all four pirates (one later surrendered) sighted in and could have taken them out then and there - but they could not fire due to Zero's ROE restrictions.
When the SEALs approached the lifeboat in a RIB (rigid-hull inflatable boat) carrying supplies for Capt. Phillips and the pirates, the pirates fired upon them. Not only was no fire returned due to the ROE, but as the pirates were shooting at the RIB, SEAL snipers on the Bainbridge had them all dialed in. No triggers were pulled due to the ROE.
Two specific rescue plans were developed by Cmdr. Castellano and the
SEAL teams. Zero personally refused to authorize them.
After the second refusal and days of dithering, Cmdr. Castellano decided he had the Operational Area and OSC authority to "solely determine risk to hostage" and did not require any further approval of the president.
Four hours later, the White House is informed that three pirates are
dead and Capt. Phillips has been rescued unharmed. A WH press release is immediately issued, giving credit to the president for his "daring and decisive" behavior that resulted in such success.
Zero has absolutely no military knowledge or experience whatsoever. He demanded decisional control over the entire hostage drama to the last detail. All actions required his personal approval. He dithered like a coward while the world laughed at our warships flummoxed by four illiterate teenagers with AKs in a lifeboat.
Only when the Navy Commander decided to ignore his Pantywaist-in Chief
and take action and responsibility himself, were the incredible skills of the SEALs put into play.
That Zero could cynically and opportunistically claim that his "bold" "calm" "tough" leadership was responsible should remind everyone that not a single action , not a single word of this man can be trusted. He is bereft of honesty and moral character. That's why he's Zero.
Let us raise a glass full of pride and gratitude to Navy Commander Frank Castellano, the Navy SEALs for their incredible competence, and our military. Let's hold a Tea Party in their honor.
Dear Barracka Claus
by BullDog44 April 26th, 2009Dear Barracka Claus,
Thank you for reading this letter. I hope you are staying warm way up there in D.C. so far from us regular folks. I know this letter is early but I was hoping it would reach you in time for you to do some things for me. Even though I didn't vote for you, I did vote for the grinch , nevertheless I hope this won't change your opinion of me. As you probably know already I am unemployed. It could be because of my job performance or lack thereof but it could also be because of the temporary visas granted to foreign workers to do those jobs that Americans such as myself won't do, like I.T. work. It could also be because of the high taxes that are imposed by a dominating government onto employers who could hire more people and get more accomplished as a result, if they didn't have to worry about things like cap and trade and other stupid taxes. I would like for you to give me a job. I shouldn't have to actually earn it or present any type of experience in the profession, just view it as a paid volunteer.
I have a few areas that I think I could bring some well needed hopen'change. How about putting me in as border czar? No more of these open borders, I will simply take off from Disney and have an Uncle Sam sign that says you must be able to pass these tests in order to ride the American dream.
If not that maybe kick lil Timmy Geitner to the curb and allow me to be Tax Daddy! I don't really agree with the whole "reward the lazy, screw the worker" deal though. I know that doesn't fit in with your scheme so perhaps we can look at other areas.
Maybe name me U.N. Bouncer. I will just go in holding up my middle finger and announce "If you think this is for you, you are probably right." O.k. once again this doesn't seem your M.O. but you don't want to seem to rigid. I can tone it down and instead play the cliff notes version of all of your foreign speeches, where you remind them of all of our errors, and then I spend the entire rest of your 4 years going through all the virtues and assistance that America has provided to other countries and peoples.
Or since I am an I.T. guy maybe give me a grant to work on a new B.S. detector. We could have it set up for all politicians since an awful lot of Americans seem to have lost their common sense. Basically it would consist of a car battery and some electrodes and a 12 person jury of non-partisan voters all equipped with a red button. 6 or more smell bovine excrement, that Duracell lights up along with the perpetrator. We could even use it on you. Don't worry we won't use it for the no lobbyists and all the rest of the fertilizer you have spread. And we also won't use it when you say "Uh" , that would not be cost effective. No "green" power though since it doesn't really work.
And my final suggestion for your gifted employment to me is Human Interrogator Technician. No need to get the C.I.A. involved. Just me , a room , and an unlimited Sears charge card. You can use the C.I.A. beforehand to ensure ( as they already do ) that the individual does possess some knowledge that is necessary for diverting a terrorist attack on innocent American citizens. Once they drop them off with me then I will contact them at a later time with new updated data. I am not saying what I would or would not do, I may do things that would make Jack Bauer blush or maybe things to make the A.C.L.U. applaud, either way we will be protected. I promise to give each participant a lollipop after graduating though. I know it sounds harsh and all but when I think back to the images of people jumping from all those stories up in the air, going knowingly to their deaths, when I recall seeing those rescue workers with tears wiping the soot from their cheeks, and when I think of the children that had their parents whisked away from them prematurely and have nightmares as a result, sir, there is no level of harshness to compare in order to stop that from happening again. Heck if the C.I.A. informs them that if they don't give up the info or lie their next stop is with me, you may never need me or use me, sorta like our constitution.
Well that is enough for now. Thanks for taking time to read my letter. I hope your elves are doing well , except that mean one named Rahm, little short evil elf is he.
Sincerely,
Bulldog
The Audacity of Arrogance

What are you doing?
by BullDog44 April 24th, 2009The other night at a grocery store as I was proudly displaying my tea party shirt someone approached me to read it and asked me about it. After explaining to them what we were for and against he was shocked. He had sipped the Kool Aid and thought we were an Obama bashing uprising. I had diligently informed him how upset many people are with the current state of our government and that many of our representatives have left us out to dry. Most are politicians, very few are patriots. The conversation continued and though I am a "rightie" and a staunch conservative and he a "middler" and had leaning both right and left, we found various areas that we agreed on. We both want less government with more efficiency. We both want more of our money but recognize that some taxes are necessary. We both want our local representatives and those in the distant Washington D.C. to do what is best for the majority and to also protect the minority but not to destroy either for benefit of the other. There were a few areas of disagreement, and rightfully so , however we both had similar foundations. I advised him to get involved, and to join us and have his voice heard. There are many American citizens out there who are not getting the truth. I saw this firsthand as a result of the tea party coverage by our local media. I believe multitudes of Americans are misinformed, on both sides. They think all "lefties" are multisexual Castro worshiping drive through baby killers and all "righties" are inbred white racists rednecks clinging to their guns and religion who are upset that a black man is president. For too long many of us have sat back and allowed this picture to be painted, without our input. But silence and apathy are no longer an option. If we do not engage our neighbors, our family members, our community, to stand up and say enough of this bureaucratic free for few paid by many machine and bring it to a responsible level, then we will have allowed it to go so far that it will have reached the point of no return. Let those around you know of the benefits of having a more streamlined government, there are multitudes of areas for agreement. We don't have to reduce ourselves to creating impressive and deceptive speeches to mask our similar desires. Politicians create slogans and hidden meanings to cloak their motives. "Redirecting a suction hose in order to remove the operational matter of a increasing conglomeration of tissue and cells so that the offending material will be completely omitted so as not to cause further complications and will not impede on the livelihood of the patient" sounds great and is political speak, however simply stating it is aborting a child is much more truthful and direct. Educate and inform, that is one of the beauties of the internet. We can share these things , but it is up to each and every one of you. It could even happen when you are shopping for milk.
